This year, was our second annual New Year’s Day swim where sponsored swimmers raise money for Paws and Claws.
7 people and 1 canine braved the sea which was warmer than the air, then stayed in the water so long that the spectators on the beach were freezing with the north wind. As the water was warmer, the reluctant 8 eventually came out to face the cold air.
Afterwards we enjoyed some good food in a warm atmosphere, and it was so much fun seeing our friends and making new friends. We missed one of our swimmers, who is no longer with us and also the ones who were out of town and could not make it.
We also enjoyed the swimmers who participated for the first time.
We at P& C are very grateful to the the swimmers who “suffer” to benefit our little friends🌹
Also a great big thank you goes to every one who came and to those who sponsored our swimmers even from other countries ❤️
Lots of love and gratitude comes your way as we wish everybody a healthy, joyful and peaceful new year!
Thank you to Ann who put together a video of the day:
